Ezine

If you want to earn long term consistent profits you need to start building your own list and one of the ways you can do this is by starting your own ezine or newsletter which you can use to generate sales in a variety of ways.

The main benefit of having an ezine is that you will be able to build a list of subscribers who are all interested in a similar topic which is essential if you want to generate sales. By providing your subscribers with useful information you will quickly build a loyal following of readers.

The main disadvantage of having an ezine is that if you include too much content in each issue and too many adverts you will dramatically decrease your response rates and lower your sales. This is why many ezines have a large number of subscribers but extremely low response rates because there is no clear focus in each message and readers become distracted.

So if you want to create a successful ezine you need to keep each message short and to the point without too much content and without too many adverts. If you want to increase your response rates you may decide that you don't want to sell any advertising space in each issue of your ezine (although you can still sell solo ads because they are sent on their own).

To keep your readers interested you need to provide them with quality information that they will find useful and you should also give them free gifts every now and then. This will give them a reason to stay on your list and they will not think you are just trying to sell to them all of the time.

Each message that you send to your subscribers should start with your article or sales message at the top so that its the first thing readers will see. If you include a table of contents and an editorial note at the top of the email (like most other ezines) you will distract your readers with useless information that serves no purpose.

Most of the people on your list will be subscribed to multiple ezines and newsletters and they will not have time to go through masses of information. You need to catch their attention with your headline to get them to open your email and then give them the information straight away before they decide to move on to the next message.

So once you have created the squeeze page and set up the auto responder for your ezine you can use the broadcast feature to send messages to your subscribers. How often you create each issue is up to you but its best to email your subscribers at least once per week.
